Absolutely Disgusting the second we sat down,it was absolute freezing inside the restaurant and the table next to us said the same. we were all sat there shivering.
You could see other customers were also not happy.
The Food order was incorrect the waitress took our order wrong after explaing it to her 5 times.
3 meals arrived,assuming the other 3 on there way,however that was not the case.
no meals arrived so 3 of our friends didnt eat,the food was substandard and cold that we had recieved.
we had enough and paid the bill for food we had ordered and left.
Sorry but this is nothing special had better servies and food locally and if adults were cold and shivering sat with their coats on imagine a child?
in conclusion sort your central heating and try have warm place for customers to eat,no one enjoyed there food because it was that cold.the food was bland and watery soup.
Sorry we will not be returning and I will tell this to other people who think of visiting.
Waste of money,I could have cooked better for fraction of the price at home for all of us
You must have waiter / waitress who can speak full english and understand it .

Very authentic Indian food. We visited first time they were full...we had to wait for our order for 40 to 45 mins. But food was amazing. We went today all the way from Bognor ( 1 hour drive) when we were about to order the waiter said we cn only order tiffen items. I could see other people being served other dishes. The waiter was apologising for this inconvenience . The serving team is on their toes.so busy i had to ask hi chair 4 times..They need to employ more staff for smooth functioning and upseting customers. 1 family walked out as order would take 40 to 45 mins.

We were gifted Mint Dosa £200 gift voucher by our friend last week. We tried to use the gift card online to order food but there is only an option to pay by credit card or pay pal. There was no option to use gift card. I called the restaurant to ask for help. The person who answered said there is no one at the restaurant who can help and that the gift card cannot be used in the restaurant and only online. This information was not mentioned any where on the website and i feel this is very unfair.
The person asked me to email or chat but wasn’t sure when admin will be able to help.

Totally disappointed with the unfair service and lack of help from the restaurant and mint dosa. Please don’t buy gift cards from mint dosa

How can we improve?
I hope you will listen to the feedback
1. Thank you for printing a sensible menu which we can now read unlike the ridiculous small folded triangular one Pity you put the prices up a lot!
2. Your till receipt is awful as the price doesn’t match the menu price because you take the Vat off and then add it back. Nobody else does this - why make it complicated???
3. Portions are so tiny - vegetables are cheap and we felt cheated. Gobi / veg Manchurian, chilli paneer were small portions. Half the dish was shredded lettuce - you can’t cheat us like this!! First you put up the price, then you give a very small portion. Please be reasonable - it’s very disappointing that you did this instead of filling the serving dish properly. Shredded lettuce should be minimal - stop the gimmicks. On a previous visit the masala dosa was also nearly empty . Why do you have to do that? Fill it properly - another two tablespoons of potato mash are not expensive!!!
4. I have been to you x 3 in 6 weeks as you are my favourite place but you are causing upset with the above and the loud music. Why on earth are you doing this? We came to eat peacefully and you are playing numbers with a fast beat and loudly. A restaurant is for eating and meeting friends , chatting to family or to eat solo and enjoy a peaceful ambience but it’s so overwhelming with your new idea of loud music . Please STOP that and let us have a peaceful meal. Again this is a new gimmick . Each time we had to ask the waiter 3-4 times. One of the waiters argued with us last Wednesday and said other guests like it- we came at a quiet time 3 pm in the afternoon and there were 2 other tables; one left after 10 minutes so there were only two tables with 2 people and loud music!! It was so unpleasant and noisy as it’s also a language we don’t understand and we haven’t come to a night club/ music venue . It is very disturbing to have the fast loud beat and spoiled the enjoyment of the meal. I was with a friend and we couldn’t hear each other. The waiter was being stubborn and saying others want it. Instead of creating disputes, just don’t have it loud and choose peaceful quiet numbers - why should we have to listen to it in the first place and so loud- really intrusive and unpleasant. You are really ruining the experience of being able to have a peaceful quiet meal. Nobody wants loud music with a fast beat. I prefer no music so please keep it down. I am dreading coming there again and having to keep asking- “please turn the music down”. Fix the volume to low background music so all the waiters / staff know what that is and refuse requests to turn it up. Put loud music in your kitchen for the staff as I think the waiter wanted the music and nobody else was bothered. Meals should be eaten in a peaceful environment - when the restaurant was a bit busier one Saturday around 6 pm, there was a lot of noise from people chatting and the music was even louder - no chance of an enjoyable chat and quiet meal. Please turn the music off or keep to a very low background level so it’s not intrusive . Do not entertain requests to turn it up- you are not a music venue . I have been coming to this restaurant for 8-9 years and bring all my visitors here as well as friends and family and have never needed to give feedback - really very upset that you are changing a lovely restaurant with loud music, small portions and high prices !! Not needed.

Dear Sir / Madam, My wife and I had lunch at your restaurant on Saturday. I have to say that the Masal Dosa I had was both authentic and delicious. Our own disappointment was that you did not have Lime Soda [Nimbu Panni] which would have nice on such a hot day. I posted a photo of my Masal Dosa on our Yammer Page at work and several colleagues have told me that they plan to visit yoyr restaurant during the forthcoming weeks. Regards, Gavin

This is my favourite place to eat in Southampton. I would come here every day if it were possible. Thank you Mint Dosa for making such tasty and authentic dishes!

Ordered via Deliveroo, food came on time but the chicken biriyani wasn’t good. It was hard in places and the rice was like it has all been in the microwave

It was the first time I ate there and the food was great and I really liked the waiter's as they were so polite and attentive.
I would go back again. It is difficult to notice though as it is next to a big KFC and fish and chip shop but once you climb the stairs you won't be disappointed.
I ordered the lamb dish and okra and aubergine as well as vegetable biriani. The dosas were also great.

I visited Mint Dosa again on Thursday. The food was fantastic and I got cutleries in my takeaway bag. The stuff was very friendly just as the first time. I found everything excellent and will visit soon again. (I might convince myself to order something different next time, but I'm obsessed with Chana and Dosa masala..I can't help it..hehe) Thank you for the experience.

I really enjoyed the food. Both the dishes I ordered were well-made and very delicious. However, I had two concerns. The food was a bit too oily. I may've enjoyed it more if there had been less oil in it. On the other hand, I missed the cutleries from my takeaway bag. I picked up the bag then without taking a look, I headed to the beach for a picnick. I only realzied I had no fork or spoon, nor paper napkin in the bag when I was already there. Other than that, everything was very tasty and the staff was super friendly and kind. I'll visit again very soon.
